If you are looking for anti-aging products I would take a look at resveratrol and astragalus. You get already some resveratrol from Malbec ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Al, great excuse to have a Malbec tonight! haha

How do you source all of these in Argentina? Imported products are astronomically expensive, especially niche products such as supplements. and forget about importing them yourself...everyone I know confirms this.

Mercado Libre...

Literally has everything you need, it ain't cheap but not overly ridiculous.

Also, when I travel outside of Argentina I stock up.

Interesting! Any thoughts on fish oil as a supplement?

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Not a huge fan as have heard they can accumulate Mercury if sourced from larger fish.

Sardines are a great source & superfood.

Actually, they are one thing I love about Europe summer. Can't beat grilled sardines on the Mediterranean, probably never felt healthier in my life than here.

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

That's fair, I've heard mixed reviews on it.

I also don't eat much fish in Buenos Aires, but it doesn't seem to affect how I feel and train.

Great read! Do you take a multivitamin along with the other supplements?

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Thanks Andrew. Nope, I don't take multivitamins, I try to get them from food. Occasionally eat liver and oysters which are natures multivitamin.

Megatlon's got a heavy bag to hit?

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Unfortunately not at most of the ones Iโ€™ve been to.

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

But, you can ask nicely at Villa Crespo & they might let you ๐Ÿ˜‰

Simple and well written, appreciate the insights on your supplements of choice. Find yourself eating a lot of chicken down there?

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Thanks Andrew. Appreciate the feedback!

Not really mate, but itโ€™s always on the menus of the parrilla restaurants & easy to get.

-Love the High intensity/ low volume approach of Dorian. I recently switched over to Mike Mentzer's training program and it has yielded great results so far, he takes it a little further than Dorian even.

-Another thing I have added into my routine this year is Sauna/Cold immersion, if you are interested in increasing test/hgh levels its worth a look. Lots of benefits.

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Oh nice, I'll check that out.

I also love sauna/ice, and should have included it.

Trouble is it's hard to find a decent sauna and ice bath Argentina.

Great stuff as usual. A few of my thoughts:

Good to see weโ€™re pretty much in agreement on the food pyramidโ€ฆ although I do take in more than my fair share of tortillas (being in Mexico).

My supplement game is extremely weak. After reading your take on creatine (especially the cognitive benefits), I think Iโ€™ll be giving it another shot.

Driving culture has essential destroyed the Westโ€ฆ at least the States. While I occasionally struggled with my weight there, I have no problem maintaining/losing weight in Mexico despite eating/drinking pretty much whatever I want. I attribute this to daily gym and getting 10,000 steps. For reference, Iโ€™m 6ft (182 cm), 175 lbs (78 kg), with about 10% body fat.

Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ's avatar

Great point mate! I love Mexican food and also felt extremely heathy there, even after copious amount of Tacos.

Creatine is great, I certainly notice it, you can even just micro dose it in the morning with a coffee or tea.

All seems reasonable. Definitely wise to throw away the grade school food pyramid ๐Ÿ˜‚. Iโ€™m back in BA for 2 months โ€” current favourite restaurant I should check out?

Agreed.

Try Parrilla Hierro
