I’m a 35-year-old Tasmanian geologist currently based between Buenos Aires, Argentina and Asunción, Paraguay. I travel extensively throughout South America for my work in mineral exploration and enjoy sharing insights into the countries and regions I’m lucky enough get to explore.

Three years ago I walked away from a great, well-paid job to chase something different in South America. Along the way, I taught myself to trade basic options for income and leaned on my (uranium-heavy) investment portfolio when needed.
Today, I hold positions with two companies involved in mineral exploration in South America:
I’m currently Vice President - Technical Communications for Andina Copper and Country Manager (Argentina 🇦🇷) for Ronin Resources.
Why am I working with these companies?
Simple, the adventure and the opportunity. It took a while of just writing here on the blog (here) before I was fortunate enough come across these opportunities. After spending time on the ground, I genuinely believe both companies are one of the best places to park my money and my time.
I love the Cobrasco Project in Colombia (I think it could be the porphyry discovery of the decade) under Andina Copper.
And if we can pull off what we have planned at Ronin Resources, shareholders will be very happy.

I’m sharing the full journey of legally becoming a non-resident Australian for tax purposes. It’s a proper pain in the ass, to be honest, and at times it feels like I’m the only average punter in Australia actually attempting it.
As that average punter, I realised I was never going to get ahead under the weight of Australia’s tax system and soaring cost of living.
So I thought why not give it all an unconventional crack?
Worst case? I can always fall back on a fly-in fly-out geologist gig in Western Australia if I fuck it up bad enough.

Internationalisation.
I’m documenting every step of becoming an Australian non-resident and building a legal tax setup. While I’m Australian, the approach I’m using can apply to anyone who isn’t taxed based on citizenship, basically, that’s everyone except the USA 🇺🇸 and Eritrea 🇪🇷.
Options trading for income.
This is a basic skill I believe every investor should learn. I’ve put together a step-by-step breakdown of how I taught myself options trading and set it up as a reliable income stream after quitting my job.

I record a monthly chat with my mentor and close friend, Trader Ferg, we dive into markets, mindset, Bali and opportunities we’re seeing.

I draw on my background as a Project Exploration Geologist, with a focus on two companies I work with directly, plus other opportunities I’ve come across. Living in South America has put me in touch with some seriously well-connected people in the space.

One of the most important things for anyone who wants to get ahead and invest as much as possible is finding a place where you can live like a king (or queen) for less. That’s South America, especially Paraguay. Not so much Buenos Aires these days, but I’ve still managed to live quite comfortably, and I’ll show you how.

The fun side of the journey, from nights out to off-the-path adventures around South America, staying fit and healthy, travel stories, and recommendations. I’m a fussier traveller these days at 34… but still a tight ass.
